Last updated July 31, 2026. What we aim for, and what to do if we miss.
Shore Pixel Studios builds websites for a living, so a site that some people cannot use is a problem we own rather than an edge case we tolerate. This page says what we aim for on shorepixel.com and on the sites we build for clients, and how to tell us when we fall short.
What we aim for
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the standard most public guidance points to, and it is the one we hold our client work to as well. We are not claiming a formal audit or certification. We are telling you the bar we build against.
What that means in practice
- Keyboard Navigation: Every page is built to work with a keyboard alone, so you can reach and use links, buttons, menus, and the contact form without a mouse. Focus is visible as you move through a page.
- Contrast & Hierarchy: Text is sized and coloured to stay readable, checking contrast against AA thresholds. Pages use real headings in order so screen readers can navigate by structure instead of reading top to bottom.
- Media & Alt Text: Images that carry meaning have alternative text, while images that are purely decorative are marked so assistive tech can skip them.
- Motion Preferences: Animation respects system settings. If you have "reduce motion" switched on, scroll reveals, drifting pixels, and homepage video all stand down. Video never downloads on mobile devices to preserve metered connections.
- Form Controls: Forms label their fields properly, and the contact form reports errors in clear text rather than relying on color indicators alone.
Where we know we are imperfect
Being straight with you: we test with keyboard navigation, browser tooling, and contrast checks, but we have not put this site through a formal third-party audit or systematic testing with screen reader users. Some of our pages lean on imagery and motion, and while we build those to degrade gracefully, we would rather hear about a problem than assume there isn't one.
Third-party pieces
Two things on this site come from outside vendors and are not fully ours to fix. The spam check on the contact form is Cloudflare Turnstile, and the cookie choices are handled by our own banner but the analytics behind them are Microsoft's.
Blocked by a third-party tool? If Turnstile or analytics scripts block you from getting in touch, use the email address below and we will answer your message directly.
Tell us when we get it wrong
If any part of this site is hard or impossible for you to use, email us directly. Tell us the page and what happened, including the browser or assistive technology you were using if you know it. We will reply, and we will fix what we can fix.
